Hi everyone. The idea of "horizon" is a theme that gives songwriters plenty of opportunity to express themselves, whether though metaphor or narrative, declamation or introspection. I tried to write a track-by-track breakdown but don't think it added any insight that you couldn't hear for yourselves. So I hope you don't mind if I just list the songs, with a quick description of the guru pick at the end. Most people's nominations were broadly on topic but if there's an occasional shoehorn it's because the track was too lovely to ignore.

Calling out my name
Kevin Penkin is an Australian anime and game music composer. He made himself a lot of fans- including me- with his compelling score to the TV series Made in Abyss. He looks to have graduated to the even bigger league with the score to the new Netflix series EDEN. He currently lives and works in Melbourne.
These playlists were inspired by readers' song nominations from last week's topic: Always beyond: songs about horizons. The next topic will launch on Thursday at 1pm UK time.
