Feminine Forza!
I have tried to remain equanimous as the nominations piled up over the weekend. As suggested by several seasoned gurus, the onslaught of song nominations calmed around Saturday evening and into Sunday with hardly a ripple on Monday!
You are all delightful, courteous and generous patrons of the bar with an amazing breadth and depth of knowledge that has taken me across genres from big band to manufactured pop and everything in between: Stax, soul, classical, disco, folk, metal, Japanese pop and more.
You've also taken me on a time travel through decades of music – as early as the 18th century right up to the present day – literally!
I have been unable to coordinate a theme for the tunes in my lists and given the extent of the topic and subsequent nominations I couldn’t do it justice.
It is therefore much better if the ten principal tunes speak for themselves.
I won't have satisfied everyone but from such a diverse pool of songs to have to choose a mere ten I have selected those I felt covered the breadth of styles, decades and number of members that female groups are.
There are groups previously listed and a smattering that enter the Marconium for the first time.
I do hope you find something that appeals.
Thank you for an enjoyable weekend.
