A tribute to the late Malcolm Young, rhythm guitarist and co-founding member of the Scottish/Australian rock band who recently passed away after several years of health problems. Malcolm was the solid, steady straight man of rock and co-writer who enabled his younger Angus to be such a flamboyant and brilliant joker on lead. Back in Black, which was a tribute after the sudden death of the band's singer Bon Scott, exemplifies the power and simplicity of a formula they found and stuck with to enormous success. The 1980 album of the same name becoming the second biggest selling in history. Its riff is as unmistakable and unstoppable as anything in the genre. The song has been covered by many other artists, and even sampled by Public Enemy.
Thunderstruck, from 1990's album The Razers Edge, marked something of a comeback after the band's form, and sales, dipped towards the end of the 80s. It's built on a fast, fiddly riff by Angus and a deceptively simple rhythm guitar part by Malcolm – their classic combination.
