From our recent hoof-themed trot on SOTD, it's time to take a related sidestep to similar body parts in the from of the indie pop Glasgow band fronted by the twinkle-toed Jenny Reeve and Jill O'Sullivan. By no coincidence, in their work and personal lives, they too have an obsession with another hoof-related creature (actually a cloven, warm-padded foot with big nails from the camel family) – the llama. What is is about these animal-loving bands that inspires such creativity and eccentricity? Anyway it works, and the pair have between them previously worked with The Reindeer Section, Arab Strap, Strike The Colours and Sparrow and the Workshop. What are their influences? Any and everything it seems, from The Art of Noise to Fleetwood Mac to Kendrick Lamar, with close vocal harmonies, unusual guitar effects and strong, offbeat rhythms some of their calling cards. Two tracks then, from their new, debut album, Fly Invisible Hero.
