What else could it be? It’s election day. There’s no point in being subtle. It’s a critical time. And it needs a critical song. This reggae and ska number, a revised version of the 2010 version launched at the Conservative / Lib Dem coalition government when it went back on promises over tuition fees, and written by the independent artists Christy Kulz and Jake Painter, has the purpose of putting it plain and simple. It uses quotes and figures. It doesn't pipe propaganda or jargon. Like the music, and unlike the politician, it is solid, straight and unambiguous. From child poverty to food banks, and rising debt, seven years later, from David Cameron to Theresa May, the PM who was home secretary for six years and is sampled here, Britain is clearly even worse off under the same government that has continuously gone back on its promises. Voting has never been more of a no-brainer.
