Heralding their new EP, Heady Metal, a beguiling, beautifully melodic alternative synth-pop love song by the alt-country/indie Nottingham quartet with a metaphor about revealing your less attractive side. Co-vocalist/bassist Tiger Cohen-Towell explains “‘Scratch Your Metal’ means showing the most difficult and sometimes unbearable parts of yourself outwardly, because the sound of something scratching against metal is the most unpleasant noise I can think of. The song is about the duality of relationships, and accepting a partner as flawed and human in the same ways as yourself. It was written on a cheap Casio keyboard at a friend’s I was staying at in London, and it’s Divorce’s own little stab at synth pop banger.”

What do you see
Far too quick to fight it
Now they're eating all the prime cuts
Oh Baby, they look priceless
And yes, I’d take a shower
if I’d want to fucking freeze
So it’s better than it’s ever been
but where does that leave me
And She can leave
For I've been proud and I've been righteous
I've been sick
I've been dishonest
And I have the skin to match it
Oh the thinking
That I've found it
When you're sleeping next to me
You’re as fearful as you've ever been
And Fearful that it's never been
Ohh
Oh Jessie
Scratch your metal
In the back seat of my car
I don't care for any other girl
I shed my skin oh in your loving arms
I will call you in the morning
And I will call for you at night
I can't reach
To climb your ceiling
Saved my dresses for a reason
But is it safe
Those things you wave
In front of my face
I take
The needle
To the fabric
A disarmament of grace
I keep playing the same old part
I keep saying the same old lines
If you’re leaving for real this time
Take me with you
Take me with you
Take me with you
Take me with you
Oh Jessie
scratch your metal
In the back seat of my car
I don't care for any other girl
I shed my skin oh in your loving arms
I will call you in the morning
And I will call for you at night
I will call you in the morning
And I will call for you at night
