Rippling, intricate drums and bass, soothing synths and understated vocals come in this highly original recent single by the French/British multi-instrumentalist Maïlé Doremus-Cook, and is produced by Oli Bayston. The song is about the feeling of a burn beeing soothed under cold water and how that feeling of relief can be compared to what many people search for in everyday life.

From your feet to mind
You’re wishing you were right
You know you’re out of time
But you won’t ever mind
It’s never dark at night
When I forget I’m blind
Behind your many eyes
You’ve lost your only mind
You aren’t afraid of fire
And I try to keep it burning higher
You don’t know what you feel
And I wonder if it’s real
These things come and go
When lights above keep passing me
And the door is closed
But I can walk through walls you see
And I just don’t know
If I can keep it burning higher
And I’ll keep you warm
If you aren’t afraid of fire
If you aren’t afraid to fall
