This beautiful, gently paced, piano-based single, about highlighting overlooked moments of joy, heralds the forthcoming new album Everything, When Said Slowly, by the Leipzig-based Irish twin brothers Ashley and Brandon Watson from Wexford. With additional string arrangements and chromatic harmonica, the track has musical influences in the ballads of The Carpenters and John Barry’s Midnight Cowboy score. The album is released on 24 January 24th via Absolute.
“The song for me encompasses the sentiment of the rest of the album, it was a huge communal effort making what was written in a more dreary, lonesome headspace into something hopeful and joyous. We collaborated with our close friends Cillian & Lorcan Byrne, Conor Cunningham & Jessie Monk, who all lent a hand in turning my introspective dilemmas into a bittersweet drunken choir. Also we were delighted we got to work with Santiago Moyao who bought so much creativity to the project,” explains Ashley Watson.
