Mesmerically strange and captivating experimental synth-pop by brother-sister duo of Dominic and Fionnuala Kennedy, born of Irish parents but growing up in north-west London, from their upcoming debut album, Humanus, out on Margate’s PRAH Recordings. Their band name comes from the idea that ‘uh’ is one of the most common sounds heard in the English language, as an imitative that holds no linguistic meaning, but is also sound recognised by everyone, perceived as a hesitation or an exclamation of distrust or a number of other reactions. For the duo, t’s this ambiguity of the term that draws them to it to inspire music that’s a marriage of the pastoral and urban. To explore and enjoy more of their album (due out in February 2023), see the Bandcamp embedded link below, and for further work, see also the Spotify link.
