A beguiling, gentle, vivid single of intertwining delicate vocals, accordion and strings by the singer and co-founder of acclaimed Swedish experimental band Little Dragon, heralding her debut solo LP, For You, out on 28 March on Ninja Tune. As she explains: “Living in Scandinavia, we must face our long, dark winters. The lack of light brings many of us down. At the same time, underground, life thrives. Microbes stay busy breaking down organic matter, recycling nutrients and improving the soil, quietly preparing for spring. I also grow during my personal winter seasons, even though things might feel dead on the surface. Wheels turn as I transform and move through it getting ready for spring and summer.” To explore and enjoy more by Yukimi, including a previous single Break Me Down, see also the other embedded links below.
The earth below
Alive
Under the snow
The frost
Bit cold
Protect me
From falling in love
The earth below
Alive
Under the snow
The frost
Bit cold
Protect me
From falling in love
Winter, I love her she wraps herself cold
Around me, I slow down my feet
In my solitude
I'm rambling in the dark
Hanging tightly to
Whatever little spark, I find
Winter, I crave her
She wraps herself safe
Around me, I slow down my feet
In my solitude
I'm rambling in the dark
I'm hanging tightly to
Whatever spark that I see
Planting a seed
Deep in the dark
Bury it underground
Til summer explode
And I lose control
The earth below
Alive
Under the snow
The frost
The cold
Protect me
From falling in love
From falling in love
