From yesterday's heat wave of 1963, to another of a different kind in 2013: "Up in the diamond sky, Stronger than you and I, Am a wave, I break through the barrier reef, Cut through the carbon sea, Approaching the shore." A beautiful, ethereal work by the Dublin indie band from their second album {Awayland}. Influenced by the works of Carl Sagan and expressing a perspective about the vastness of the universe, and how tiny we are within it, it perfectly mixes electronica, a light piano accompaniment, Conor O'Brien's delicate, intimate vocal delivery, and a powerful brass-lined chorus.
