“Hard work is a trap.” Continuing the employment theme, an explosion of hilarious, caustic wit and rapier guitar riffs of angry moral decency from Cardiff-based Andrew "Falco" Falkous. The prolific Falco is better known as frontman of Future of the Left, and and also punk band Mclusky, but Christian Fitness is his solo project, for which he has made five brilliant albums. This track is from 2017’s Slap Bass Hunks, and in the current climate where increasingly employers are exploiting law to pretend their workers are actually self-employed, this is bang-on relevant. His latest album is the marvellously titled Nuance – Musical. Hard to categorise, the flavour of this indie/postpunk pop also lies somewhere between Rage Against The Machine and Half Man Half Biscuit.
