Another sudden death of a great performer, and this time a tribute to the Prodigy’s Keith Flint, who began as a dancer for the punk rave band, but who’s magnetic presence turned into a charismatic co-frontman. Breathe, along with Firestarter, from the 1996 album The Fat Of The Land, marking the height fo the British band’s career when they brought dance and rave music to a new punk level. The song was written by Keith, keyboardist and producer Liam Howlett, and co-frontman Maxim Reality, also known as Keith Palmer, features whiplash rhythms, driving guitar riffs and a sneering vocal that echoes John Lydon and the Sex Pistols. The song includes samples of Johnny the Fox Meets Jimmy the Weed by Thin Lizzy, Da Mystery of Chessboxin' by Wu-Tang Clan, and The Rill Thing by Little Richard. As for the Prodigy, it is Keith Flint, whose stage presence was that of some frightening, demonic court jester, who remains its sadly missed iconic figure. A live version is also included below.
Breathe the pressure
Come play my game, I'll test ya
Psychosomatic, addict, insane
Breathe the pressure
Come play my game, I'll test ya
Psychosomatic, addict, insane
Come play my game
Inhale, inhale, you're the victim
Come play my game
Exhale, exhale, exhale
