Inspired by the dance culture of Manchester, cleverly crafted, evolving, clubby but intricate and supremely infectious work the British electronica artist and producer Sam Shepherd. That sense of place is marked the euphoric Afflecks Palace, named the famous central Manchester market stall building, but the real standouts here are perhaps the extraordinary, delicate and diverse former Song of the Day Ocotillo, as well as the rave/disco style singles Key103 and Birth4000, but the entire album may likely pull you in with its momentum. Evocative of dark, hallucinatory nights of sweaty euphoria and dawn come-downs, but also packed with invention and skill. Out on Ninja Tune / Pluto.
