Another wonderfully indulgent dosage of meaty psychedelic folk rock from the mysterious, masked Swedish collective from Norrbotten County, with nods to Black Sabbath and other forbears, and certain fungal mitochondria. After 2021’s Headsoup LP, here comes the chanting, meditation, heavy rock pedals and recorders on opening track Impermanence and Death, to closer Tripping Through The Graveyard. It’s a full-on very fun trip, the band continuing to acknowledge their own heritage of Swedish 70s psych/prog/folk acts such as Arbete & Fritid, Charlie & Esdor and Träd, Gräs & Stenar. So climb into those metaphorical dark temple hooded cloaks, don the animal masks, let the magic of acoustic number Raised By Hills seep in, surrender to the thrum and organ of I Became The Unemployment Office (which pertains to an expression for someone taking advantage of you), or the George Harrison-esque Indian twang of TSOD to the full-on Sabbath feel of Join The Resistance. Why? Because if it’s worth doing, it’s worth overdoing. See you on the other side. Out on Rocket Recordings.
