Upbeat, vibrant new LP of old-school-type hip hop mining vintage funk and soul samples with added guest rappers, skilfully put together by the Bristol pair of Roy Spencer aka DJ Moneyshot and producer Rackabeat aka Adam Volson. Featuring Andy Cooper [Ugly Duckling] on Utility Man, Jumping Off, Up Down Left and Right and and Are You Ready (with Marietta Smith), Dynamite MC on the opener Lean On You, and Lyrics Born on Going To The Party. Very much a party album, This is all feelgood, celebratory and meta-descriptive enjoyment with echoes of early 90s Stereo MCs, but the real stars of course are the 70s funk and soul artists whose breakbeats and songs are cleverly sampled. Out on Jalapeno Records.
