From one crazy song to another, another by a great singer, this time the Atlanta-born CeeLo Green in collaboration with New York producer Danger Mouse, aka Brian Joseph Burton, from their acclaimed 2006 album St Elsewhere. The music has a wonderful bass line, but is also inspired by the spaghetti western style of Ennio Morricone. The lyrics, while darkly humorous, are also underpinned by a soulful melancholy, and are about how the two artists can be perceived as a little unhinged by others. Crazy, of course, is a relative term.
I remember when
I remember, I remember when I lost my mind
There was something so pleasant about that place
Even your emotions have an echo in so much space
And when you're out there, without care
Yeah I was out of touch
But it wasn't because I didn't know enough
I just knew too much
Does that make me crazy?
Does that make me crazy?
Does that make me crazy?
Possibly
And now that you are having the time of your life
Well think twice
That's my only advice
Come on now, who do you
Who do you, who do you
Who do you think you are?
Ha ha ha, bless your soul
You really think you're in control?
